Abstract (EN)

An entrepreneur is someone who creates a business and an idea by manifesting his/her creative ability for contributing to the national economy as well as achieving economic benefit by combining his/her imaginary with intelligence, determination, resolution and patience taking the risk that he/she may encounter. Culture refers to the way of life, view of life, backgrounds, and customs and traditions acquired by the societies; briefly to the core of the society in which they live. Proverbs are the whole of advices which are the products of the culture and from which the experiences are transferred. The aim of this study is to find the effect of culture on the entrepreneurship concept and to reveal the approach of the proverbs being the products of the culture to the entrepreneurship concept. Firstly, a literature review on entrepreneurship, culture and proverbs was performed. Then, the approach of the Turkish proverbs to the entrepreneurship concept was tried to be determined using the content analysis among the qualitative research methods. Therefore the Turkish proverbs was subjected to a classification as the ones which highlighted the reasons blocking the entrepreneurship, the reasons promoting the entrepreneurship and the qualities that an entrepreneur should have. As a result, it was determined that there was more emphasis on the reasons promoting the entrepreneurship and the qualities that an entrepreneur should have.
