As a result of the events described as the Arab Spring in 2011, civil turmoil started in Syria and soon these turmoil turned into a major civil war. As a result of the civil war, people have sought refuge in primarily neighboring countries, in masses. Turkey accepted the people fleeing war by applying an open-door policy and has taken them into the borders becoming the country with the largest number of Syrian refugees today.
