Structural analysis of rainbow trout farms: A case of Hakkari

In this study, the structural analysis of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) businesses operating in Hakkari province, the stages of establishment, the resources they have, the educational status of the personnel and the resources used, the problems encountered are revealed and it is aimed to be a guiding resource for other entrepreneurs who will operate in this field. It has been observed that the enterprises produce in spring water and stream water and their average distance to the water source is 1.2 km. PVC closed pipe system and concrete, soil, earthen side walls are used to deliver water to enterprises and pools. It was determined that ready-made feeds were preferred in all of the examined enterprises, but economic difficulties were experienced due to the expensiveness of the feeds used. It has been observed that all of the farms have a feed store and the daily feeding period is 2-6 meals in puppies and rearing, and 1-3 meals in broodstock and breeder. It has been determined that the amount of feed used annually in the enterprises varies between 50-114 tons. In addition, FCR information was obtained from only one enterprise and this figure is given as 1.2. It has been determined that only one of all businesses uses investment loans and business loans. It has been reported that it is difficult to obtain loans due to reasons such as high interest rates and low amounts. All of the enterprises stated that the aquaculture incentives were insufficient. In this thesis, it is aimed to evaluate the existing profile by structurally examining the enterprises in Hakkari province, which has an important potential in rainbow trout production, and to provide important information to the entrepreneurs who plan to invest in this region in the future.
