Abstract (EN)

In this study "Applied Geomorphology of Gökpınar River Basin" has been researched. Gökpınar River is a side branch of Çürüksu River which is an important branch of the Büyük Menderes River. There are applied geomorphological problems in the basin within the boundaries of Denizli. The study area is geologically located at the contact point of the Menderes massif and Lycian nappe system. At the same time in shaping the topographic view of the site, which is a part of the western Anatolian graben system, tectonic movements and fluvial processes have been effective. The study area, which consists of two main geomorphological units as mountainous area and plain, has an average elevation of 903.8 m. Geomorphology-human interaction continues from the past to the present work within the boundaries of the conscious/unconscious applications, which leads to the loss of life and property causes the natural events/causes. In this respect, the factors affecting applied geomorphological problems were determined and examined with numerical analysis using geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing (UA) programs. As a result of the studies carried out, it has been concluded that applied geomorphological problems such as seismicity, mass movements, erosion, floods and torrent, siltations have occurred. In order to minimize the effects of these problems, suggestions have been tried to be given, and the sensitivity maps are intended to raise publica wareness. Key Words: Denizli, Gökpınar, Applied Geomorphology, Erosion, Seismicity
