Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to evaluate the provenance trial of Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), which was established with 30 provenance 20 years ago in Isparta-Aydoğmuş and Burdur-Kemer, located in the Mediterranean climate zone, in terms of some morphological and physiological characteristics. Within the scope of the research, in the 10 most successful origins according to the results of the scientific studies carried out since the day the provenance trial was established, 10 morphological (tree diameter, branch thickness, branch number, branch angle, width, height and thickness of needle leaves, specific leaf area, mass per leaf area and leaf dry amount of substance) and 17 physiological characteristics (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll, chlorophyll fluorescence and carotenoid content, photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, intercellular CO2, vapor pressure gap due to leaf temperature, transpiration rate, intercellular CO2 concentration to environmental CO2 concentration rate, water use efficiency, midday xylem water potential, lipid peroxidation, proline and hydrogen peroxide contents) were measured and observed. The measurements of physiological characters were repeated in 2018 and 2019, and the average of two years was used in the process of data evaluation. As a result of the statistical analysis made in order to evaluate the data obtained, Çatacık, Akyazı, Gölköy, Sarıkamış and Mesudiye provenances can be recommended as seed sources for the areas where the trial was established and similar growing environments, especially in terms of drought resistance indicators, such as malondialdehyde, proline and hydrogen peroxide levels. In addition, when a common evaluation is made in terms of all the characters studied, Çatacık, Mesudiye, Şenkaya, Sarıkamış and Gölköy provenances can be suggested as alternative seed sources for the experimental areas and their surroundings.
