The contributions of Southeast Anatolia Project on building up trust between state and the people of the region

The South-Eastern Anatolia Project, which serves as an important example of regional development in the world, has mainly contributed to the economical, social, political, educational, agricultural and industrial development of the region. In addition to this, it is a significant project to obtain the harmony, aiming to eliminate the regional inequality, and to exchange the confidence between the state and the people of the region so as to create this harmony.The South-eastern Project which was firstly started as an irrigation and hydroelectric power plant emphasized the social side of the project by including ?the philosophy of sustainable humane improvement? into the leading strategies with the South-eastern Anatolia Project (SEAP) Plan in later years. The beginning of the Project led to decline in the rates of unhindered emigration.The confidence between the state and the people of the region had been shaken by the varied events and reasons before the project was started. It mustn?t be overlooked that internal and external sources have impact on the shaken confidence as well as the state. The state endeavoured to regain the confidence with the South-eastern Project.
