Abstract (EN)

In this study, the transcription and evaluation of Harput District's Shar'iyyah Record dated H.1091-1092/M.1680-1681 (p.125-247) are made. In this study after giving information about primarily the institution of kadi, religious courts, and Shar'iyyah record, the documents in the mentioned registry are summarized and are classified according to their subjects, and a general evaluation is made. Harput Religious Registry that we have examined contains purchase and sale, debt registrations, the cases of commodity disagreements, portion of the inheritance, appointment of guardianship, grant, marriage, tergiversation, tax, robbery, murder, the cases of banditry, injury and pounding cases, and the copies of these documents as ordered. In the light of all of these documents it is tried to be made some observation about the political, economic and social situation of Harput Sanjak at the mentioned date. The period of the registry prepared intersects with Ottoman-Russian War. This war that started in 1675 ended with an agreement in 1681. In this period the sultan of the Ottoman Empire was Mehmed IV.
