Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of spiritual well-being in the relationship between the motivation levels and subjective well-being of individuals undergoing Hafiz (Quran memorization) training. The research employs a correlational research design, one of the quantitative research methods. The study group consists of 346 students enrolled in Hafiz training courses in Manisa, Turkey. Data collection tools used in the study include the Personal Information Form, Spiritual Well-Being Scale, Adolescent Subjective Well-Being Scale, and Hafiz Training Motivation Scale. The data collected were analyzed using the SPSS statistical package. In the analysis, t-tests were applied for sub-factors with two variables, and ANOVA tests were used for sub-factors with more than two variables. Pearson's Correlation Coefficient was used to analyze relationships between variables, and regression-based mediation macro analysis (Process Model 4) was applied to examine direct and indirect roles of variables in the mediation analysis. According to the research findings, the Hafiz students' scores on Hafiz training motivation, subjective well-being, and spiritual well-being showed significant differences based on their grade levels. Additionally, a significant gender-based difference in favor of male students was found in Hafiz training motivation. Positive and significant relationships were identified between Hafiz training motivation and subjective well-being, Hafiz training motivation and spiritual well-being, as well as between subjective well-being and spiritual well-being. The mediation analysis results revealed that subjective well-being had a significant direct effect on Hafiz training motivation. Moreover, in the presence of the mediating variable of spiritual well-being, the indirect effect of subjective well-being on Hafiz training motivation was also found to be significant. Spiritual well-being partially mediated the relationship between subjective well-being and Hafiz training motivation. The findings of the study were interpreted within the framework of relevant literature. Keywords: Hafiz Training, Subjective Well-Being, Hafiz Training Motivation, Spiritual Well-Being, Spirituality
