Abstract (EN)
The Urartu Kingdom, which established a strong civilization in Eastern Anatolia in the first millennium BC, reigned in the geographical region that included the Euphrates River in the west, the Aras Valley in the north, the eastern coast in the east and the southern Taurus in the south. The traces of urartu which can be expressed by the royal settlements having certain characteristics and the local characteristic settlements which may be the province center are not as common in Hakkâri as other regions. In this, Hakkari's unfavorable environment plays a role. In our work, Urartu traces were searched on the tombs, rock tombs and small find types found in Hakkâri. The sight of the rock tombs in the Hakkâri region is clear evidence that it exists as a provincial center. During the course of our work, surface surveys in and around Hakkari and the data obtained from the villagers have tried to determine the location of the Urartu Kingdom in the region. The settlement history of Hakkâri, which has a rich cultural background, can go back to 5000 years. This ancient history of Hakkari, which has been home to many civilizations and societies, has left important remains to this day. The rock-top paintings, Early Iron Age chamber tombs and Hakkari Steles found in the archaeological studies conducted in Hakkari Region to date shed light on the archaeological history of the region. However, in limited number of scientific studies conducted in the region, no information was given about the Urartian traces. In the early 2000s, the first information about the communities living in the high altitude highlands of Eastern Anatolia, including the Hakkâri Region, is found in the Assyrian inscriptions. Salmanassar I of the Assyrian king XIII BC. century (1274-1244 BC), some countries are said to have fought the Assyrian kingdom, and in this inscription the word Uriatri is not the name of an ethnic human community "Assyrian language" means "mountainous region" and is located in this region Hakkari.
