Abstract (EN)
This research has probed physicist and philosopher Hans Reichenbach's life, the intellectual environment he grew up in, the principal issues within philosophy he undertook, the new ideas he introduced and his contribution to Turkish academia during the years he spent time in Turkey. Hans Reichenbach has put forth the connection between physics and philosophy in areas such as Scientific Philosophy, Causality, Probability, Relativity and Quantum physics not only as a scientist but, also as a logician and philosopher similar to the contemporaries of his time, which include Schlick, Carnap, Wittgenstein, and Einstein. Prior to WWII, under the pressure of the National Socialist German administration, Reichenbach sought refuge in Turkey where he continued his academic career. Against this backdrop, this research also explored the reasons in which he came to Turkey within this particular historical process. Throughout this study, Turkish, English and German scientific resources, memoirs and letters have been used.
