Apply to the hospital 0-6 age group children's mothers evaluation of information and attitudes on security measures and first aid practices for home accidents.

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the mother's knowledge and attitudes about security measures and first aid practices for home accidents. Material and Method: The study included 100 mothers who applied to the Child Health and Diseases Policlinic of a private hospital. The data obtained in the study were collected using the Mother Information Form, "Scale for Recognizing Security Measures for Domestic Accidents at 0-6 Age Children" and "First Aid Practices and Attitude Evaluation Form for Childhood Home Accidents". Results: It was determined that the average age of the subjects was 32,12 ± 6,412, 73% of them were under the associate / undergraduate level and 15% were currently working in a job. 69% of mothers reported that their children had a home accident at least once and 91% had no education about home accidents. The average age of the children was 2.51 ± 1,387 years and the most frequent fall, impact, combustion accidents were detected. In our study, it was determined that there was a difference between the average scores of the mothers with respect to many variables. Conclusion: According to the findings, education, working status and age factor had an impact on the safety measures taken by mothers and first aid applications. Parents should be educated about safety precautions for home accidents and correct first aid practices and their awareness should be increased.
