Abstract (EN)
Allocation units give the chance for tracing the socio-economic developments in the social scale. For this reason, it is essential to approach the social and economic structures of provinces from the view point of the science of economy. Hatay province has hosted countless civilizations throughout history.Therefore, this three-sections-study constitutes an attempt to display the socio-economic structure of this province. İn the first section of the study; an attempt to explicate the concept of region and regional development is made, and theories of regional development are touched upon. In the Second Chapter; in addition to the geographical structure of the province, the potential of population, education and health were searched. The Third Chapter examines economical structure of the Province in detail. In this study it is endeavored to evaluate the social and economic structure of Hatay province with the help of tables and diagrams. In addition to that, chances and threats along with strong and weak aspects of this province are displayed by making the SWOT analysis of it accordingly. Besides that, attention is drawn to the appropriate fields of investments throughout the province.
