Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, there is increasing interest in the interaction between textile materials and people. Mental and physical comfort has become much more important for consumers, especially in recent times. When consumers are choosing a textile material or fabric, the first situation that textile manufacturers and consumers exhibit in terms of fabric quality perception is to touch the fabric in order to evaluate the quality perception of the product and decide whether the fabric is suitable for its intended use. Since the provision of tactile properties positively affects consumer behavior, it is important to evaluate textile materials first in terms of quality perception. For this reason, in order to produce fabrics that are similar to each other in terms of quality and comfort and to ensure its continuity, first of all, subjective evaluations should be made and these should be supported with objective measurements. In this study, the quality perception of terry fabrics, which has an important place in home textile products in the textile sector, was first evaluated subjectively by experts with professional experience in the field of towels, then the terry fabrics were measured with the Kawabata KES system and objectively evaluated. As a result, the TQV (Total Quality Value) value is correlated with the measured data by developing an objective method that gives the quality value of any terry fabric within certain limits as a result of the tests performed, and the maximum correlation coefficient between subjective and objective evaluations is 0,963 has been found.
