Abstract (EN)

In patients with ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease), a close relationship has been detected between morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it is needed to focus on the treatment methods which will improve the quality of life of the patients. The elongation in periods of life of the patients with high scores of quality of life has been demonstrated to be with better performance status in various studies. In the study an interview form which evaluates personel characteristics and features of disease and its treatment and the quality of life scale was used. Interview form and SF-36 Quality of Life Scale were completed by asking to patients and biochemical parameters were obtained from patients? files. In the study, carried out in 40 patients receiving hemodialysis and 30 patients receiving continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, to investigate the life of quality and the factors affecting it; a meaningful relationship has been demonstrated between the life of quality and age, education level, marital status, primary disease, concomitant disease, hemoglobin, serum albumin levels, predialitic systolic pressure, interdialitic weight gain and Kt/V ratio.Although the physical function point of peritoneal dialysis patients was more than of hemodialysis patients; it was not statistically significant. Difficulty in physical role, general health, vitality, social functioning points of HD patients were more than of PD patients; but it was not statistically significant. In our study, patients with hemodialysis, it has been observed that there was significant difference in the points of life of quality, in favor of male gender. In our study, the FK score of the single patients has been found significantly high compared to the cases in other groups. However, no relationship was detected between the MK score regarding marital status.Positive correlation has been detected between education level, hemoglobin, serum albumin level, predialitic systolic pressure and Kt/V ratio; while negative correlation between age, concomitant disease, interdialitic weight gain and life of quality has been detected.FK scores of quality of life of the patients whose primary diseases were diabetes, hypertension have been detected to be lower compared to the group whose primary disease were gromerulonephritis, pyelonephritis, polycystic kidney, etc.As a result of our study, it has been concluded that it is necessary to determine and periodically evaluate the factors affecting quality of life related to mortality in patients receiving hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
