Hemşirelerin Al Nasiriya Şehrindeki Al Hussein Hastanesinde COVID 19'un yayılması hakkında bilgi ve önleyici davranışlarının değerlendirilmesi.

The COVID-19 infection has been a disease that has caused a crisis in both society and the health system due to its very high transmission rate and severe symptoms such as severe respiratory failure. Objectives: The study aims to assess the nurses' knowledge and preventive behaviors about the spread of COVID-19. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study has been carried out at Al Hussein Hospital in Al Nasiriya City among 150 nurses chosen by using non-probability sampling (a convienice sample). Results: The study found that 106 (70.7%) of nurses are female, 111 (74%) are between the ages of 20 and 29, 74 (49.3%) have a diploma in nursing and 112 (74.7%) have 1-5 years of experience. The mean of the clinical presentation of COVID-19 is 7.50, the transmission route is 5.36, prevention and control are 8.95, the overall knowledge about the spread of COVID-19 is 21.8, and the preventive behavior about COVID-19 is 32.74. There is a significant relationship between nurses' knowledge about the spread of COVID-19 and age, level of education, and years of service at p-values of 0.002, 0.047, and 0.020, respectively. Conclusion: The study concluded that nurses have good knowledge and preventive behavior about the spread of COVID-19. Recommendation: Educational lectures on the COVID-19 chain of infection should be given, training sessions should be held to teach nurses how to use personal protective equipment, and regular supervision of nursing staff should be evaluated on the practice of handwashing, masks, gloves and other personal protective equipment. 2023, 58 pages Keywords: Assessment, COVID-19, Nurses, Knowledge, Preventive behaviors, Spread,
