Abstract (EN)

Individualism is a whole to be consist of our personal properties, abilities, goals and beliefs. This is a fact what the person is, what will happen in the future and reflects that desire what other people think about herself/himself. Self-esteem reflects that the person like the subjective qualities and self-worth seeing, and proceeds from self-assess. Stress and coping with stress is considerably important at the period of youth, as well as every period of life. Because youth is a period marked by a combination of exchange and development with social, physical and psychological aspects. The purpose of this study determine the level of self-esteem and also examine the relationship between coping with stress and self-esteem of the students of Ege University Faculty of Nursing. By the data evaluated with related analysis, the hypotheses have been analysed. According to results, the students' self-esteem is associated with coping methods with stress. It has been determined that the level of nursing students' self-esteem increased, they use and have more self-confident approach, optimistic approach and social support approach. Conversely, it was identified that students' self-esteem level is low using the insecure approach and submissive attitudes.
