Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this research is to evaluate the Undergraduate Curriculum of Ege University Nursing Faculty in line with the nursing students' and instructors' opinions using context, input, process, product (CIPP) model. Method: The research is methodological and descriptive research study. The research was conducted out with 448 students who were studying and 82 instructors who were staffing in the Nursing Department of Ege University Nursing Faculty between September 2017 and July 2018. "Student and Instructor Identification Information Forms" and "Nursing Undergraduate Curriculum Evaluation Form (NUCEF)" were used in order to collect data in the research. Content validity and construct validity were used in evaluating the validity of the data collection form. Internal consistency and test-retest analysis were used in evaluating the reliability of the data collection form. NUCEF consists of 4 sub-dimensions including Context, Input, Process and Product and 50 items. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 and LISREL programs. In the data analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t test, ANOVA, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H test were used. Results: Satisfaction level of curriculum was found to be 4,47±2,09 for the students and 6,80±1,89 for the instructors. While the average scores of Context (X =20,26±4,75), Input (X =41,17±8,39), Process (X =46,87±10,66) and Product (X =40,71±9,42) sub-dimensions of NUCEF of the students were close to the average, the average scores of Context (X =24,29±3,89), Input (X =48,42±7,30), Process (X =55,01±9,31) and Product (X =44,71±8,07) sub-dimensions of NUCEF of the instructors were above the average. A statistically significant difference was found between the Context, Input, Process and Product sub-dimension average scores of NUCEF of students and instructors. The average score of the instructors was higher than the students in all sub-dimesions. Conclusion: Nursing Undergraduate Curriculum Evaluation Form is a valid and reliable form that can be used to evaluate nursing undergraduate curriculum. Instructors had more positive views on the curriculum than the students. In terms of Context, Input, Process and Product; the students think that the nursing undergraduate curriculum is partially adequate and the instructors think that the nursing undergraduate curriculum program is adequate. As a result, it is recommended that the current undergraduate curriculum be reviewed and regulated, and that program improvement and evaluation studies be carried out continuously and systematically.
