Abstract (EN)

It is considered significant to design new teaching atmosphere in education that will attract the learners' the attention, gain the ability such as cooperation, solving problems, computational thinking. In this study, it is intended for doing research about improving computational thinking ability of the students in hybrid education. The study has been carried out on 33 students in Year 6 at a state secondary school in Dalaman, Muğla. It has been made use of qualitative and qualitative data in this work in which research approach and action research are used.In the quantitative dimension of the research, a single-group experimental design was used and the Computer Thinking Skills scale developed by Korkmaz, Çakır, and Özden (2015) was used as a pre-test and post-test as a data collection tool. In the qualitative aspect of the research, data collection tools such as "Computational Thinking and Digital Story Evaluation Rubric", "Semi-Structured Interview Form" and "Observation Notes" developed by the researcher were used. While T test was used for basic statistical calculations in the analysis of quantitative data of the research, qualitative data was analyzed descriptively. When the obtained data was analyzed, it ascertained that the digital storytelling application which was developed, improved the students' Computational Thinking skills in general and in all sub-dimensions. In the operational process, it was identified that the students learned by having fun with the digital storytelling method, they enjoyed the lesson, and the satisfaction of obtaining a product at the end of the process.
