Abstract (EN)
Photography has been an important documentation tool in the fields of science and art since its invention. In the documentation of historical places, photography has been used since the early periods of its emergence, due to its easy production and clear information transmission depending on technology. The invention of photography was announced to the public as Daguerre's invention by the French Academy of Sciences in 1839. Then, traveller photographers traveled to various places and photographed historical places with the Daguerreotype technique. Today, many photographers have taken photographs in this context. In our study, the photographs taken by Joseph Koudelka and Sabit Kalfagil in historical places were examined and evaluated photographically. Hittites, BC. II. It is a civilization that continued its existence in Anatolia in the millennium BC and left its mark on the history of the Ancient Near East. The Hittite capital, Hattusha, is located in the Boğazkale district of Çorum today. Hattusa was discovered by Charles Texier in 1834. Hattusa was documented in the early years of its discovery through drawings and engravings. The ancient city was first photographed by Jules Delbet in 1861. Photography has played an important role in the analysis, interpretation and detection of overlooked details in the archaeological excavations that have continued since 1906. In this study, the history of the Hattusa excavation was explained with photographs and the physical change was revealed thanks to the current photographs taken today. In addition to the production of works carried out in the monumental places of Hattusha, information about the correct light times of these places is also given.
