The mediating role of flow experience in the relationships between servant leadership, job satisfaction and organizational commitment: A study in a public institution

Abstract (EN)
In today's business world, it is an accepted fact that having an employee-oriented management approach, finding the most suitable employee to achieve the goals of the organization, getting and maintaining high performance from these employees will provide an important competitive power and have a great importance for the continuity of the organization. The Covid-19 epidemic, which started last year and still exists as a global threat, affecting the lives of millions of people as well as the lives of organizations, has revealed the importance of organizations and employees to adapt to changing conditions. For this, organizations need leaders with empathy and insight. In this study, the effect of servant leadership, one of the modern types of leadership, on job satisfaction and organizational commitment was examined, and the mediating role of the concept of "flow experience" in this relationship was investigated. An application was made in the public sector to test the effect of servant leadership on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and the mediating role of flow experience in this relationship. The necessary data were obtained through a questionnaire to public employees. According to the findings obtained by analyzing the obtained data with the SPSS 23 Program; it was concluded that servant leadership has a positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and that flow experience has a partial mediating effect on the effect of servant leadership on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Whether job satisfaction and organizational commitment differ according to demographic variables were tested and it was concluded that job satisfaction did not differ according to demographic variables and organizational commitment differed according to the title.
