Abstract (EN)
Ibn Akîl, one of the most important linguists of Mamluks, lived between 1298 and 1367 in Cairo. His significant linguistic competence can be clearly seen in the commentary book he has written on İbn Mâlik's poetic work, Alfiyye. He has tackled all the subject discussed by the earliest scholars of syntax and has supported some of the ideas he agreed with. In this study we have discussed the political, social and cultural aspects of İbn Akîl's era, his life, the transferred and logical evidences he has used as a source for language studies, his approach towards Basra and Kufe, the two outstanding language schools and his ideas and critics about the representatives of these two schools. We have expressed his preferences in detail in separate titles. Key Words: İbn Akîl, Arabic Language, Alfiyye, Sentax, Morfology.
