Avicenna's theory of intellect

In Avicenna's philosophy, the realm is valued in two parts, supra-lunar and sub-lunar realm. The group of beings in supra-lunar realm are God, celestial minds, celestial spheres and souls. On the other hand, beings in a sub-moon realm are classified as things, plants, and animals. The philosophical system of Avicenna's, man is at the highest level of the hierarchy of being in the sub-moon realm. Man owes this competent position to soul's a rational being. The philosopher describes the intellectual human soul, which he only attributes to man, as a substance with faculties and competencies. In this context, it mainly evaluates the human soul in two parts: the practical mind and the theoretical mind. While practical mind includes the actions of human beings in relation to dimensions of behavior; the theoretical mind includes human activities related to informational processes. The theoretical ıntellect is dealt with in four parts, according to its relationship to intelligibles in the agent intellect; it's the Material Intellect, the Intellect in Habitu, the Actual Intellect, and the Acquire Intellect. In addition, the holy intellect of the prophets is also examined in relation to the material intellect and intellect in habitu. This classification of the epistemological aspect of the human soul also expresses the state of competence of the theoretical mind. The goal of man on is to reach the acquire intellect. In order for a person to achieve this goal, he must use his power of thinking functionally by eliminating the influence of sensory forces as well as intuition. As a result of using the power of intuition and thinking, humans conjuctive the Active intellect. The meaning of conjuction the Active Intellect is that intellectual knowledge, which includes middle terms, is visualized by the Active Intellect. Thanks to these prosperities, humans reach the ıntellect of Acquire. In this regard, the purpose of the research is to reveal Avicenna's theory of intellect.
