Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to show the influence of Avicenna's thoughts on metaphysics, existence and God, on Henry of Ghent's thoughts, one of the Western medieval thinkers of the thirteenth century. Avicenna, with his ideas on the science of metaphysics, his ontological distinctions such as necessary - contingent, existence - essence, and his metaphysical approach to the existence of God, both asserted authentic views in his own time and influenced many thinkers in Islamic thought and Western Latin thought after him. Henry of Ghent was influenced by Avicenna's views on metaphysics, existence and God, which he met at the University of Paris. He became one of the most important figures of Latin Avicennism in his time by including Avicenna's definition of metaphysics and ontological distinctions such as necessary - contingent, existence - essence in his works. The first part of the study is about the discussions on God before Avicenna and his views on the concepts of existence, metaphysics and God. The second part is about Henry of Ghent's intellectual portrait, medieval thought, Latin Avicennism, and the concepts of existence, metaphysics and God in Henry of Ghent's thought and the influence of Avicenna in his works. Keywords: Avicenna, Henry of Ghent, God, existence, metaphysics
