Abstract (EN)

Predictive policing is a contemporary approach to security management and policing that uses advanced technology and data analysis techniques to predict and prevent crime. The development of predictive policing has had a significant impact on our daily lives, as it has the potential to increase the effectiveness of policing and improve public safety. In recent years, the use of predictive policing has become more common as various law enforcement agencies around the world adopt this approach. The goal of predictive policing is to use data-driven insights to identify patterns and trends that may indicate an increased risk of crime in a particular area or among particular individuals. This information can then be used to more effectively target police resources and prevent crimes before they happen. Predictive policing relies on a range of technologies, including machine learning algorithms, geographic information systems, and social media analytics. These tools allow law enforcement to process and analyze large amounts of data from a variety of sources, including police records, social media posts, and sensor data. By using these technologies, predictive policing has the potential to significantly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of policing efforts. However, the use of predictive policing also raises important questions about privacy, civil liberties, and the potential for bias in the criminal justice system. It is therefore important to carefully consider the implications of this approach and ensure that it is implemented in a responsible and transparent manner. Overall, the development of predictive policing has had a significant impact on our daily lives, security management and policing practices. As technology continues to advance, it will be important to carefully consider the role of predictive policing in ensuring public safety and promoting justice. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the practices of predictive policing and its effects on public safety and the criminal justice system. I will examine the history and development of predictive policing, examine the various technologies and techniques used in this approach, and discuss the potential benefits and disadvantages of its implementation. In addition, ethical and legal issues surrounding predictive policing will be discussed, including concerns about privacy, civil liberties, and the potential for bias in the criminal justice system, and will examine how predictive policing is practiced in different jurisdictions around the country. The effectiveness of this approach in reducing crime and increasing public safety will be analyzed. Finally, comments will be made on the future of predictive policing, taking into account the potential impact of emerging technologies and the challenges and opportunities for this approach.
