Abstract (EN)

THE COMPARISON OF THE FATIGUE AND HEALTH PROMOTION LIFE STYLES ON PREGNANT THAT HAVE URINARY TRACT INFECTION OR NOT Aim: This study was planned with the aim of analyzing the effect of urinary tract infections in pregnant women on fatigue and health lifestyle behaviors. Method: This study is a cross-sectional, case-control study. Identification Form for Pregnant Women in accordance with the sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics of the pregnant women; Visual Similarity Scale for Fatigue; and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II were utilized in the study. The study data was collected by face to face interview method. The population of the study consists of 209 pregnant women registered at the İstanbul Family Health Center. The presence of a urinary tract infection was determined using the materials recommended by the Ministry of Health. Sample selection was not preferred in this study. Instead, all pregnant women, who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to take part in the study, constituted the sample of the study. The study was carried out in two groups, namely with and without urinary tract infection. The number of samples was 124; (n=47) with infection and (n=77) without infection. The data was analyzed with SPSS package program. Findings: The age average of the pregnant women was 27.52±5.46 (Min=18.0, Max=40.0). In terms of education level, the highest levels were high school and above. The total Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale score average in all of the pregnant women was determined as 130.0±18.8 (Min=74.0-189.0). No statistical difference was detected when the total score average for Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale and its subscales Moral Development, Health Responsibility, Physical Activity, Nutrition, Interpersonal Relations and Stress Management were compared with the presence of urinary tract infection (p>0.05). The Fatigue score average of the pregnant women was detected as 542.2±243.9 and the score average of the energy subscale was detected as 241.4±102.5 (Min=25.0-Max=458.0). No statistical difference was detected when Fatigue scale and Energy subscale were compared with the presence of a urinary tract infection (p>0.05). Conclusion: No statistically significant difference was detected in the comparison of the presence of a urinary tract infection with the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors of Pregnant Women and its subscales, fatigue or energy levels. These results reveal that the presence of urinary tract infections in pregnant women does not affect their healthy lifestyle behaviors or cause fatigue. Key Words: urinary tract infection; healthy lifestyle behaviors; fatigue; energy.
