Abstract (EN)
During the Second World War, Germany prefered to build submarines instead ofsurfice ships. When the war began Germany had 57 submarines in action. In the first yearof the war Germany had built 100 submarines, in the second year of the war had built 200submarines in German construction yards. In the beginning of 1943 Germany and Italy hadover than 485 submarines.Allied had lost 4786 ships in 68 monthes during 1939?45. 2775 ships of 4786 hadsunk by submarines. Submarines had reached 40 ships in monthly average.But increasing in technical events allied hunt submarines more easier. Theinvension of radar and sonar systems brought the end of submarines glorious days.Germany had lost more than 781 and Italy had lost more than 85 submarines. Monthlyaverage was 13 submarine.In Atlantic, 75.000 vessels had protected by guard ships and 574 vessel had sunk byU-Boats during the Second World War. It means 131 ships had reached her harbour but 1ship had sunk by submarine attack in convoy protection.During the Second World War submarine had proved itself. Since the war,submarine became a weapon instead of a ship. A strategic weapon. After the ballisticmissles invention, it became the most wanted weapon in the world.
