Abstract (EN)
When evaluated in terms of social history, researching and examining migrations is of great importance. From past to present, there is hardly any period in Turkish history when there were no migrations. The general definitions, types, reasons, consequences of these migrations and important migration movements and the aids made because of migration were examined in this thesis. A method of peaceful foreign policy with the Balkan states with the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey was followed. Relations have been strengthened after the signing of agreements with the state and the number of immigrants coming to Turkey have become regulars. Moreover, the Balkan Pact was signed with Greece, Romania, Albania and Yugoslavia in order to protect the borders and act together against possible external threats. However, Bulgaria did not get involved in the agreement for its own benefit. The pact signed in 1934 did not have a long life and the pact ended with the occupation of the Balkan countries in the Second World War. Turkey has managed to stay out of the war by remaining neutral during the Second World War. The main subject of this thesis is the migrations from Balkan countries, Romania and Bulgaria to Konya's Çumra and Akşehir districts. The historical background of Çumra and Akşehir, the resettlement of immigrants and the state aid to immigrants, the number of immigrants coming, and the population distribution are discussed in the examples of these two districts. Migration comes with the social, political and economic changes are also effecting Turkey as well as effecting the Balkans.
