Abstract (EN)

The study was carried out in the 2016-2017 wheat growing season under rainfed (dry) conditions in the experimental area of University of Dicle, Agricultural Faculty under the ecological conditions of Diyarbakır. In the study, it was aimed to determine some yield and quality characteristics of bread wheat genotypes in Diyarbakır conditions. The experiment was established according to randomized block design with 4 replications, 16 bread wheat genotypes were used as material, including 3 registered cultivars and 13 advanced wheat lines. Genotypes examined in the experiment varied between; heading time 158.5-163 days, physiological maturity time 190.2-193.7 days, leaf area index 2.93-4.35, plant cooling ability 2-3.3, NDVI 0.29-0.85, SPAD 38.9-51.2, plant height 77.6-95.0 cm, spike length 5.8-6.9 cm, number of spikelets in the spike 17.2-19.2, number of grains in spike 30.2-46.0, spike grain weight 1.29-2.06 g, grain yield 363.9-458.9 kg/da, thousand grain weight 25.6-34.3 g, hectoliter weight 75.4-81.8 kg/hl, grain protein content 14.2-16.9%, wet gluten content 29.4-33.7%, Zeleny sedimentation 42.4-51.7 ml and grain starch rate 60.93-63.49%. It was observed that there were statistically significant differences between genotypes in terms of investigated properties. In the light of the data obtained, a significant positive relationship was determined between grain yield and grain starch ratio at the level of 1%. However, significant differences were found with Zeleny sedimentation and wet gluten yields, which are important quality criteria. In the light of these data, it was found that there is an opposite relationship between yield and quality. The highest data for grain yield were determined in 24-HTWSN-2058, 16th IWWYT-IR-9817 and 23-ISEPTON-6045 genotypes. In terms of quality characteristics, the obvious 6STEMRRSN-6070 genotype is prominent and yielding is satisfactory. When the yield and quality data are taken together, it is seen that 16th IWWYT-IR-9817 and 6STEMRRSN-6070 genotypes are promising under Diyarbakır conditions.
