Abstract (EN)

The effect of multiple inteligence theory on apprehending what is being read and written expression skills in teaching of turkish lesson was investigated in this study. The investigation was applied on all fourth classes at Dagmarmara Niyazi Uzmez primary school in Turgutlu township of Manisa city in Turkey during second school period of 2010-2011 educational term. The experiment and also the control group were constituted by every 17 students in this study. The study was designed by determining one group as the experiment and the other as control group from two different departments. In this study, ?the experiment model with firsttest-lasttest control group? was used.?Writting skill success test? developed by S.Dilek Belet in 2005 and ?Apprehending what is being read success test? developed by Ergin Erginer in 1998 were used as collecting data instruments. The software SPSS version 17 was used in all statistical analyses of the study data. Nonparametric methods were preferred due to the study data obtained did not show normal distribution. Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon test were used in analyzing the data. The results obtained were evaluated with 95% confidence interval and a value of P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. The results obtained in the study are as follows:5.In teaching of turkish lesson at primary school fourth class, apprehending what is being read points demonstrated significant difference according to firsttest and lasttest in the experiment group which the multiple inteligence theory was applied.6.In teaching of turkish lesson at primary school fourth class, writting skills points demonstrated significant difference according to firsttest and lasttest in the experiment group which the multiple inteligence theory was applied.7.Apprehending what is being read lasttest points indicate significant difference in favor of experiment group when comparing the experiment group which the multiple inteligence theory was applied and the control group which available teaching technique was used.8.Writting skills lasttest points show significant difference in favor of experiment group when comparing the experiment group which the multiple inteligence theory was applied and the control group which available teaching technique was used.Key Words: Language, Native Language, Turkish, Teaching Turkish, Methods of Teaching Turkish, Comprehending What Has Been Read, Writing Skills, Multiple Inteligence Theory
