Elementary student's mathematical problem solving successes's analyse by demographic variables and reading comprehension skills

This study has been searched the relations between mathematic problem solving success and reading comprehension skills and social demographic variables. Study has been done in 2009 ? 2010?s second period in Kutahya/Simav. 12 elemantary schools chosen and 370 pupil has joint to this study. This study contains six main content episodes. Datas that obtained in this study has evaluated by Pearson correlation analyse, dependent t tests and independent t tests.As a summary there is positive meaning relation between problem solving success and reading comprehension skills. Problem solving success and reading comprehension skills impressed by family income, father education level, internet connection, brother or sister quantity, afterschool etudes, courses and accommodation unit. There has founded that if these variable?s levels increase, problem solving success and reading comprehension skill?s level positively increase too. But there is no meaningful relation between reading comprehension skills by mother education level and joining to special courses. Female students are more successful than male students in reading comprehension skills. On the other hand internet connection contributes to student?s problem solving success and reading comprehension skills.
