Primary school teachers' self efficacy and perceptions of success as predictor of academic optimism, hope and zest

The aim of this study was to explore the primary school teachers? self efficacy and perceptions of success and find out they are predictor of academic optimism, hope and zest for work.The research is a descriptive study and adopted correlational screening model. The sample of study selected out of 27 primary schools from central districts of Ankara consists of 600 teachers. Stratified sampling technique was used for the determination of the sample. In order to explore primary school teachers? self efficacy ?Teachers? Sense of Efficacy Scale? originally developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001) and adapted into Turkish by Çapa, Çakıroğlu and Sarıkaya (2005), in order to explore primary school teachers? academic optimism ?Teacher Academic Optimism Scale? developed by Hoy (2006) and in order to explore primary school teachers? hope ?Hope Scale? originally developed by Tschannen Snyder and colleagues (1991) and adapted into Turkish by Akman ve Korkut (1993) were used.
