Integration stages of primary school teachers and its factors

The aim this study is to determine the technology integration stages of primary teachers and its factors. Teachers feels that integrating information technologies into education is imperative, are situated in different stages of technology integration. In this study, technology integration stages of teachers working at primary schools in Usak city center and causes effected from these stages are tried to identified.The sample of the study is constituted from primary teachers in 15 different schools selected by stratification method from 45 primary schools located in 3 different hinterland area in Usak. Technology Integration Stages and Factors Scale consists of 109 questions except demographical questions, is used as data collection tool. The location of teachers in ACOT technology integration stages model and its factors tried to be determined in the study which 203 teachers were participated in.At the end of the study, five technology integration stages of ACOT model were investigated but the findings showed that behaviors are cumulated in 3 integration stages. When the factors which affect the regression findings, are investigated; technology integration stages of teachers are identified as: ?external pressure and motivation for technology usage?, ?perception of ease of use? , ?personal private interest stage?, ?belief of usefulness?, ?gender?, ?stage 2?, ?Access to technological tools?, ?perception of reputation and prestige?, ?stage 1 ? and ?basic technological knowledge?.The range of the questions under the stages showed that 1. Stage corresponded to Entry Stage, 2. Stage corresponded to Adoption and Adaptation stages, 3. Stage corresponded to Appropriation and Invention stages. When the factors are investigated it shows that 1.stage behaviors are effected from ?external pressure and motivation for technology usage?, 2. stage behaviors are effected from ?perception of ease of use? and ?gender?, 3. stage behaviors are effected from ?stage 2?, ?Access to technological tools?, ?basic technological knowledge?, ?perception of reputation and prestige? and stage 1.Keywords: Technology Integration Stages, ACOT Model.
