A research on the measurement and evaluation studies applied in primary and secondary schools

In this study, how the regulation-based measurement and evaluation attitudes of primary and secondary school teachers are and whether the measurement and evaluation attitudes differ significantly or not according to socio-demographic variables have been investigated.Prepared in accordance with general screening model study, Regulation-based assessment Evaluation (YÖDÖT) scale, developed by the researcher, in order to determine the levels of measurement and evaluation attitudes of teachers and personal information form, in order to collect data about the independent variables of the research, have been used.The population of the research is the teachers working in the primary and secondary schools in the Küçükçekmece district of İstanbul in the academic year of 2012-2013. The sample of the study consists of 362 teachers.According to the findings of the study, it has been found that the attitudes of teachers towards regulation-based measurement and evaluation have been positive and in the expected direction when their measurement and evaluation attitudes have been evaluated. Also according to the findings, it has been determined that measurement and evaluation attitudes do not significantly differentiate according to the teachers? gender, marital status, duration of study at the same school.Also according to the results of research, the attitudes of teachers, at least 41 years old, are more positive and in the expected level than the teachers in the 26-40 age range when the measurement and evaluation attitudes are evaluated. The measurement and evaluation attitudes of teachers, who have associate degree ( two-year degree) are more positive and in the expected level than the teachers with bachelor's degree. It has been found that Teachers who become principals are more positive and in the expected level of measurement and evaluation attitudes than the class and subject teachers, class teachers are more positive and in the expected level of measurement and evaluation attitudes than the subject teachers. Turkish, English and other school subjects (Art, Music, Physical Education, class) teachers' attitudes towards measurement and evaluation are more positive and in the expected level than the Social Studies and Science teachers. Also it has been found that, Measurement and evaluation attitudes of those who teach at least 21 years are more positive and in the expected level than those who teach for 6-15 years.Keywords: Measurement, Evaluation and Regulation
