Abstract (EN)

Parallel to the rapid change in the world, the importance of Science course in our country is increasing day by day. For this reason, measurement and evaluation activities carried out at each grade level in the Science course gain importance. It is very important to try different methods in order to reduce the error in measurement and evaluation activities at primary school level, to make objective and objective decisions, and to make more reliable measurement and evaluations. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the academic performance of 4th grade primary school students in Science course by fuzzy logic method. The data set used in the research was taken from 7 primary schools from the central districts of Kütahya province in the fall semester of 2019-2020, covering the grades of the 1st and 2nd exams of the 4th grade students in the Science course, which does not contain personal information. The academic success of the students was determined by evaluating the student grade slips with the blurring method in the MATLAB program. At the end of the study, the evaluation results made with the traditional statistical method and the evaluation results made with the fuzzy logic method were compared. As a result of this comparison, a result in favor of fuzzy logic has emerged in terms of providing more accuracy and flexibility in the evaluation of student academic success.
