Evaluation of the internal and external communication skills of educational directors at primary schools by teachers

This study has been performed for the evaluation of internal and external communication skills of educational directors performing duty at primary schools by teachers and for creation of suggestions in conformity with the results.Survey model was applied in the study. The research covers a population of teachers performing duty at primary schools in the European side of Istanbul. 278 teachers randomly selected (via random sampling) out of this population constitutes the sample of the research. A survey was developed for the study, which was applied to teachers under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Semra ÜNAL. The survey form consists of two parts. The first part includes questions containing personal information and the second part presents bound questions. The study consists of six chapters. The first chapter includes the problem case, problem clause, sub-problems, assumptions, restrictions and definitions. The second chapter includes concepts and definitions related to communication, basic elements of the communication process, principles and features of communication, factors affecting communication in educational organizations, types of communication in educational organizations, definition, development, purpose, importance, kinds and channels of interorganizational communication; external environment of organization and external communication. The method of the study is presented in chapter three. Statistical information is given about the population and the sample used in the study, activities related to collection and processing of data. The frequency obtained from the survey applied to teachers at public schools as well as results found significant at level p<0,005 among results of independent groups t-test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and supplementary Pos-Hoc Scheffe test were tabulated and evaluated in chapter four.Groups which do not display a significant difference are not included in the study. The fifth chapter includes conclusions and discussions related to the results and the sixth chapter includes suggestions.
