Importance and position of illustration in the art concept and it's relation with the pictorial art

Although it is known that illustration has emerged from past periods to the present day due to various needs related to the transmission of the message, this need continues to be valid today. As a branch of art that supports us to express the messages / messages to be given in the simplest, plain way, illustration serves as a powerful tool that has a strong impact on its readers / viewers or people. In this study, the place, importance and relationship of illustration with the art of painting are examined. The study consists of a total of six sections including introduction and conclusion sections. In the first part of the study, the purpose of the study, the subject of the study, the methods applied in the study are given. In the second part of the study, the concept and definition of illustration, the history of communication, types of illustration, expression techniques used in illustration, traditional illustration techniques as a form of production and the relationship between the illustration and contemporary art movements are explained. In the third part of the study, the art and concept of painting is explained by examining painting as a form of production in the context of plastic arts and example works are shown to elaborate the subject. In the fourth part of the study, the relationship between illustration and the art of painting is examined. In the fifth part of the study, the development process of illustration in the context of illustration production from primitive forms of production to modern technology and the development of the concept of digital art age from past periods to the present day are examined with the support of various illustration pictures.The aim of this research is to show that illustration serves as a media device and its relationship with the art of painting.
