Teacher and student opinions about the educational experiences of Imam Hatip high school students: An intergenerational study

The aim of the study titled "Teacher and Student Perspectives on the Educational Experiences of Imam Hatip High School Students: An Intergenerational Research Using the Qualitative Research Method and the Phenomenology Design" which utilized the qualitative research method and the phenomenology design is to examine how generational differences are reflected in religious education and to provide suggestions regarding the changes that educators facing Generation Z should make in the field of religious education. For the construction of the theoretical part of the research, domestic and international studies on generations were reviewed and evaluated. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 students and 8 teachers who are studying at an Imam Hatip High School in the city of Konya. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using content and descriptive analysis techniques. The findings, which are described and presented in detail, were evaluated with the support of theoretical knowledge, and attempts were made to find answers to the problems of generational differences reflected in education. The research, consisting of three parts, includes the introduction section where the research problem, aim, significance, limitations, and definitions are presented; the first section where the theoretical foundations, differences, and conflicts of the concept of generation are examined; the second section where the research method is discussed; the third section where the research findings are interpreted and discussed; and the conclusion and recommendations section.
