The relationship between perception of trial and psychological health

In this study, the meaning of trial and concepts that have a similar definition, the role of spiritual values in the face of life experiences, what psychological health is and the relationship between the perception of trial, the perception of God and psychological health are examined. Explanatory sequential mixed method design was used in the research. The Perception of God Scale, Brief Symptom Inventory, The Perception of Trial Questionnaire, and semi-structured interview form were used as data collection tools. The quantitative sample of the study consisted of 502 participants aged 18-65, and the qualitative sample consisted of 50 participants aged 18-57. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained, there was a significant relationship between the Brief Symptom Inventory and the perception of love-oriented God perception in the opposite direction, and between the perception of fear-oriented God perception in a positive direction. Accordingly, as the perception of love-oriented God increases, the psychological symptoms of individuals decrease; and as the fear-oriented God perception increases, the psychological symptoms of individuals increase. According to the results of The Perception of Trial Questionnaire, 86% of the participants consider life, 73% of the participants consider wealth, and 67% of the participants consider children as a trial. In order to examine the opinions of the participants about trial in depth, bilateral interviews were conducted. It was determined that the participants, who evaluated life as a trial, experienced success-failure, heaven-hell and punishment anxiety, had an insecure view of the future, used the approach of deferring from religious coping behaviors, and were psychologically and physiologically negatively affected by the experiences.
