Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the pregnancy outcomes of patients who underwent hysteroscopy for infertility. Materials and Method: The study consisted of 186 patients who underwent office hysteroscopy (office HS) and/or operative hysteroscopy (operative HS) with the diagnosis of infertility (primary or secondary) at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic between January 1, 2018 and March 1, 2022. The HS procedure was performed by surgeons specialized in the field of infertility. Results: 59.1% of the patients were diagnosed as primary infertile and 40.9% as secondary infertile. In the follow-up of the patients after hysteroscopy, pregnancy was achieved in 82 (44.1%) of 186 patients, while pregnancy was not achieved in 104 (55.9%). The time elapsed until pregnancy was achieved after the hysteroscopy procedure was calculated as 1.1 +/-0.4 years. Of the 82 (44.1%) patients who achieved pregnancy, 24 (12.9%) achieved pregnancy with IVF, 12 (6.5%) with IUI and 46 (24.7%) without any procedure. Of the 82 patients who achieved pregnancy, 71 achieved live birth. Of those who achieved live birth, 12 (16.9%) delivered vaginally and 59 (83.1%) delivered by cesarean section. The average live birth week was 36.7 +/-3.6. Conclusion: We think that hysteroscopy has a positive contribution to the pregnancy outcomes of patients who underwent it for infertility.
