Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the violence experienced by women undergoing infertility treatment and to evaluate its effects on quality of life and maritaladjustment. The study was carried out with 215 women who applied to the outpatient clinic of Çukurova University Medical Faculty Balcalı Hospital Infertility Outpatient Clinic for infertility treatment. In the study, data were collected using an introductory information form, the Scale for Determining the Severity of Infertile Women, the Fertility Quality of Life Scale (FertiQoL), and the Couple Adjustment Scale. The obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program. The mean age of the participants was 29.66±6.16. It was determined that 38.6% of the participants had an infertility period of 1-2 years, 41.9% of them 3-6 years, 8.4% of them 7-10 years, 11.2% of them 11 years and above. It was determined that 28.4% of the participants were female, 17.2% were male, 21.4% belonged to both spouses, and 33% had infertility problems due to unexplained reasons. The score they got from the violence scale was 43.66±17.95, and they were exposed to the highest domestic violence and the lowest exclusion. There was a completely negative and significant relationship between violence and quality of life, and a positive and weak relationship between violence and dyadic adjustment level. While giving care to couples receiving infertility treatment, midwives should consider domestic violence and gender inequalities and raise awareness to raise public awareness about them. Infertile groups should be considered as vulnerable groups and more careful care should be given.
