Abstract (EN)

The aim of study is to determine duration of action and ideal dosages of bupivacaine-lidocaine combinations in different concentrations by infraclavicular brachial plexus blockage method at hand operations. Following the ethics committee approval and patient consents, we randomized patients into 3 groups, each consisting of 20 patients and applied 15 ml 0,5% Bupivacaine- 15 ml 2% Lidocaine to the first, 15 ml 0,5% Bupivacaine-15 ml 2% Lidocaine-30 ml salin to the second, 10 ml 0,5% Bupivakain-10 ml 2% Lidocaine- 40 ml salin to the third group. Groups were similar according to age, weight, ASA scores, time until operation after block, operation time, perioperative and postoperative mean arterial pressure, heart rates, SpO2 values. Initiation of sensory block time was statistically longer in group I than the others and in group II according to group III. Motor block initiation time was statistically longer in group I than the other groups while it was similar between group II and group III. Postoperative sensory and motor block performance time is statistically shorter in group I than the other groups and group III according to group II. Additional analgesic requirement and VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) scores was statistically higher in group I than group II and group III (p < 0,05). They were similar between group II and group III (p > 0,05). As a result, decreasing concentrations of local anesthetics by means of increasing their total solution volume was resulted in faster block initiation, longer block duration with decreased VAS scores and decreased need for analgesics in postoperative patients.
