Diplomatic relations of Türkiye whitin the context of human rights violations: Case of the People's Republic of China

Human rights and diplomacy are among the most popular contemporary concepts. Origins of both of these concepts can be traced back to ancient times, and they have left significant marks in the progress of humankind. Rights that were once seen as privileges granted to subjects by a monarch are now not only able to be demanded by every person, but they have reached a point where the states that violate them can be forced by other states in the international system. It is a historical fact that the Republic of Türkiye opened its doors to people in need and shared what it had with peoples in trouble and the available data published by various international organizations proves the generosity of Türkiye. It is expected that the foreign policy would reflect the sensitivity of the Turkish public for the human rights violations in the world. Whether there were policy changes in relation to human rights or not and how the state placed the issue in its diplomatic relations in the foreign policy applications formulated as the Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreign Policy are important for the subject matter. This research has investigated whether the words of those who govern the state about the suffering of the oppressed peoples during the 2000s -when sensitivity to human rights has increased- were supported by the foreign policy and diplomatic relations or not.
