Abstract (EN)

Activist practices that develop and change with digitalization and new communication technologies come to the fore through the media. Digital activist practices have made it possible to communicate on climate activism regardless of interaction, speed, time, and place. So much so that climate activists are trying to make their voices heard through different new media platforms and projects. From time to time, the media can take a more distant approach to climate change, global warming, and environmental news, which are among global and current events. Climate news is an orientation in which it is necessary to specialize in the field. Scientific data should be used in plain and understandable language that the public can understand. At this point, news language is important in terms of not making the reader feel helpless and enabling them to take action. Climate news is formed by the fact that journalists and editorial processes determine the frame of the news, and the news is also included in the internet newspapers of the national press with differences. The aim of the study is to reveal the similarities, differences, and frequency of the news on global warming and climate change on the official websites of the national press and to reveal the systematic content in the news. It is thought that this study will contribute to the debate on the acceptance of climate journalism as an existing genre without being presented under the subtitle of environmental news. Keywords: Climate Journalism, Climate Activism, New Media
