Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to investigate the detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which causes urinary tract infections, and its resistance to some antibiotics. The material to be used in the study consists of 150 patients (with urinary tract infection) and 50 healthy (control) individuals who applied to Yarmouk Training Hospital in Baghdad between 18 March and 9 October 2022. The control group consists of healthy individuals and health personnel in the families of the sick individuals and their age ranges between 10-50 years. Bacterial isolates were confirmed with the VITEK 2 system. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect bacterial genes. In line with the data obtained, it was determined that Piperacillin/tazobactam, Cefepim and Ceftazidime antibiotics played the most active role in the elimination of urinary tract infections. Also, while the AlgU gene was positive in 88% of the samples, the PelF gene was found to be positive in 80% of the samples. Obtained strains were registered in the National Data Bank (NCBI) and serial numbers were obtained with the code OP353999 for the PelF gene and OP345000 for the AlgU gene.
