Abstract (EN)

The most challenging and time consuming issue of human resources departments in companies is the personnel files of the employees. The legal obligation of keeping these records and carrying the process with paper documents bring some problems along. In this study, the potential benefits that may grow from the creation and archiving of employee personal files electronically will be examined and the outcomes of the process will be evaluated. In the first section of the research, literature review about the definition and the historical development of human resources approaches has been made. In the second section, the contents and the functions of personal files are explained in terms of the regulations. In the third section, the management of electronic papers and the potential benefits of this system are mentioned as well as the examination of the outputs of creating employee personal papers electronically in two companies from two different sectors. In the conlusion of this study, it is proven that electronic document management improves the efficiency and lowers the costs of human resources business processes, especially in terms of employee personal files, as well as developing senses of trust and belonging of the empoyees for the company with regard to the access to information. This study is also a guide for the companies who wants to integrate to the electronic document management system.
