Abstract (EN)

There is a great interest in porcelain clay in the world and in our country. Porcelain, which has a difficult structure, requires disciplined work. Porcelain has a wide range of uses, and it arouses interest with its durability and elegant stance when it is fired at high temperatures. The fact that it has a transparent appearance increases this interest even more. In this study, the effect of casting ceramic compositions on the light transmittance of the raw materials currently used in tile and ceramic sanitaryware factories, without using special raw materials and slip, was investigated. The formulas created were studied with the 4th system, and their light transmittance (transparency) and casting properties were examined by firing at 1220-1240oC, and their light transmittance, body structure, surface gloss and deformations were examined. As a continuation of this study, the effect of different casting thicknesses on transparency was also investigated. As a result of the study, raw materials that are easily accessible in the market and light transmittance ceramic bodies were developed and their applications were realized. Key Words: Porcelain, transparency, ceramic body
