The issue of caliphate in Islamic law the case of Rashid Reza and Abdussalam Yasin

The first serious issue faced by Muslims after the death of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) the head of Islamic state based in Medina was the issue of presidency. With te death of the Prophet the political disagreements arose in the ummah about the issue of presidency firstly, afterwards the issue of the presidency that named caliphate, became a faith issue among the muslim society. In fact imamet/caliphate was the experience had learned by ummah over time and from begining to the time of its abolition has been the most important political institution in Islamic society. During that time at different times and places many debates have been held about imamate/caliphate which is the presidency system of Islam and many studies have been put forward about the issue. In this thesis, the ideas of Reşid Rıza and Abdusselam Yasin which have left important effects on the issue of imamat/caliphate have been studied and interpreted according to Fiqh al Islam. At the end of the study, the findings that emerged from the evaluation of these two thinkers' ideas about the caliphate within the framework of Islamic law are included.
