Abstract (EN)
This doctoral thesis named "The Effect of Organizational Commitment and Stress Management on Employee Productivity in Businesses: Application in a Health Institution in Istanbul"; It consists of Introduction, five chapters and Conclusion and Recommendations. In the Introduction, the subject of the study was introduced by giving general information about the subject of the study and the relevant literature. In the First Chapter, under the title of "Stress Management in Business", stress and stress management are discussed in detail. In the Second Chapter, under the title of "Organizational Commitment", the subject of organizational commitment is discussed in detail. In the third chapter, under the title of "Employee Efficiency", the issue of employee productivity is covered, as in the previous two chapters, based on national and international literature. In the fourth chapter, information about the purpose, importance, limitations, hypotheses, research model, methodology, universe and sample of the research is given under the title of "Method". In the Fifth Chapter, under the title of "Research and Findings", statistical analyzes of the findings obtained as a result of the questionnaires are interpreted. In the last part of the study, titled "Conclusion and Suggestions", the results of the research were discussed, and finally, in the light of the scientific information obtained, suggestions were given for future academic studies on the subject and suggestions were presented to increase the performance and productivity of the employees in the health sector. In this doctoral thesis study, the effect of two independent variables (stress management and organizational commitment) on the dependent variable (employee productivity) was investigated with the structural equation model. The field research was determined with 95% confidence level and 5% sensitivity, taking into account the scientific level of the study, and was applied to 413 employees. It has been determined that the data obtained in the research is scientifically usable by applying the reliability and validity analysis on the data obtained in the research. Then, the explanatory statistics and frequency distributions of the data are given. An important reporting stage in data analysis is the basic analysis, in which it is investigated whether there are differences in research variables in terms of individual characteristics (demographic variables) of the participants. As the third step of the analysis, research variables (stress management, organizational commitment and employee productivity) were examined in terms of demographic variables and the results were interpreted. In the fourth and last stage, the effect of organizational commitment and stress management on employee productivity, which is the problem of the study, was analyzed with the structural equation model and the findings were interpreted. The hypothesis of the effect of coping with stress and organizational commitment on employee productivity, which expresses the main problem of the research, was analyzed with the structural equation model. According to the findings, the effects of both coping with stress and organizational commitment on employee productivity were found to be significant. However, when the effects of two independent variables were evaluated, it was concluded that the effect of stress management was significantly higher.
