Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the morphological characteristics, dying properties and indigo contents of Isatis sp. collected from different locations in Isparta province (Isatis tinctoria, Isatis glauca, Isatis cappadocica) and cultivated (Isatis tinctoria, Isatis floribunda) in the field of Isparta Applied Sciences University Agricultural Research and Application Farm. In this study, the Isatis glauca species collected from nature had higher values in terms of morphological characteristics, whereas the Isatis tinctoria species cultivated in terms of indigo content had higher values. When the obtained data were evaluated, Isatis glauca collected from nature came to the fore with the highest average leaf width (33.54 mm), leaf length (160 mm) and fruit length (15.7 mm), while Isatis tinctoria collected from nature had the highest plant height (125.78 cm) and body diameter (10.71 mm). According to dyestuff analysis, the highest indigo content was found in I. tinctoria species (2.26 mg/g), while the lowest indigo content was found in I. glauca and I. cappadocica species (0.004 mg/g). As a result of the dyeing made with I. tinctorial the navy-blue color was obtained. On the other hand, the washing fastness value was determined between 2-5.
