Lausanne Peace Conference negotiations according to İstanbul media (Vakit newspaper)

Treaty of Lausanne has been most consequential political occasion for the Turkish history. The treaty, brought Turkish War of Indepedence to an end and made possible for the Turks to start a new period. This treaty would framed basic characteristics of im mediately afterward founded new Turkish Republic. İt also enabled new state to be recognized and accepted in international community.The aim of this study is to probe relevant developments took place before and after the treaty and also explicate the perspective of contemporary Vakit newspaper about the treaty process. In the first section, along with summarization of political and military developments took place between World War One and the Great Attack, there is also a presentation for basic of this thesis, Vakit newspaper, and preparations for Conference of Lausanne. Second and third sections contain evaluations made by Vaakit newspaper pertinent to negotiations of Conference of Lausanne. İn the last section, signing of treaty and its evaluation made by TBMM are assessed.
